Business visa

A business visa allows the employee to live as long as 90 days in Finland. This visa does not permit the employee to interact directly with the job. This visa helps the person to attend seminars and conferences. This visa could be applicable to employees during the onboarding process who will not stay back in Finland to work in the country.

Residence permit for self-employment

This permit can be given to individuals within a company, including private businessmen, associates, and cooperative leaders. Before this permit can be granted it has to be registered with the Trade Register at the National Patent and Registration Board.

Temporary residency permit

A temporary residency permit is issued as a fixed-term (B) or continuous residence permit, depending on the duration of the stay. The first permit is usually given for one year, unless you apply explicitly for a shorter validity period. Ongoing residence permits may be extended for a maximum of three years.

This visa is the most common type of work visa. There are three types of visas in this category-

Work Permit Eligibility

Irrespective of the work permit you are applying for, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. These include:

  • Age: Below 45 years
  • Valid job offer letter issued by a Canadian employer with a positive LMIA
  • Minimum of 2 years of skilled work experience under NOC category of TEER Level 0, 1, 2, or 3

Work Permit Processing Time

Canada Work Permit processing time varies from 3-4 months for overseas applicants. Because it depends on the type of work permit you choose to apply for. The government of Canada allows immigration for family members under the dependent work permit category.

You may be entitled to take your spouse and children to Canada if you obtain a job offer from a Canadian employer and have an open work permit. Your children will be eligible to attend Canadian educational institutions without having to get separate study permits.
